Kidd: a free dildo for all women
    Warren: *blink* Your government listens?
    Kidd: for health reasons
    Warren: Hahahaha
    Warren: What health reasons?
Kidd: people laugh but it's actually serious
Kidd: that's why it hurts so much when girls who haven't used dildos have sex the first couple of times
Kidd: their pussies have caved in
Kidd: their pussies aren't working properly
Kidd: cause they haven't been trained
Kidd: a woman needs a penis or a dildo inside of her once every second week to have her pussy function properly
    Warren: That's a good point.
Kidd: therefore I find it to be a human right to get a cheapass dildo paid for with tax money
Kidd: no vibration, no funny forms.. nothing fancy

    Plights of a French major
I never have to worry about my classes being full before I can register. You know why? Because the classes aren't popular. The only people that take them are people that need them. How many people might you think that is? I'll tell you. Around 6. MAYBE as many as 10, but probably not. In addition, every single one of those also has at least another major or minor to work on. That means overlap; they'll have classes they need to take that get in the way of their French classes. Which do they take? The other subject, of course.

As of right now, the two classes I need to finish my major and, therefore, graduate are only slated to have 5 students each. They're at risk of getting cancelled. If Dr. Egloff's civ class gets cancelled, I'll have no reason to be a student next semester.

Your Aspie score: 143 of 200
    Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 67 of 200
You are very likely an Aspie

That's interesting. According to Wikipedia, an "aspie" is someone with Asperger's Syndrome: "Asperger syndrome (also Asperger's syndrome, Asperger's disorder, Asperger's, AS, or AD) is one of several autism spectrum disorders (ASD) characterized by difficulties in social interaction and by restricted and stereotyped interests and activities. AS is distinguished from the other ASDs in having no general delay in language or cognitive development. Although not mentioned in standard diagnostic criteria, motor clumsiness and atypical use of language are frequently reported."

"Atypical use of language" is a pretty good descriptor of some stuff I do, but not "motor clumsiness." I'd say more, but I don't have a DSM-IV nor do I feel like reading all that Wikipedia has to say.

So I've got some good news and some weird news.
Which would you like first? The weird? Too bad, because I'm telling the good first.

I'm getting an award for being the "outstanding senior French student" or something like that. Surprises me a bit, since I can't help but think some of the others in my class at least speak better and are more interested in the classes than I am. No matter, though, since I'm getting $100 for accepting it, not to mention that there will be a reception and ceremony on the 15th, which probably means free food, too. On top of that, my parents are buying me some clothes so that I have something "casual-formal" to wear, as I think my mom put it. I expected my regular going-to-class clothes to suffice, but I'm at a loss for good pants right now, so I'm not going to refuse. So that's the good news.

The weird news, for lack of a better way to put it, is obviously going to be more interesting. For two nights in a row, I've had a dream in which I killed someone. Last night, it was two people, although one wasn't exactly human. Anyway, the first was fully human. I don't remember all the details, but there was a guy that was causing some trouble. I fended him off, I believe with a knife and some minor wounds, but he came back later. The second time, I tried to cut him, but only sliced his shirt to find that he was shielded by something that resembled some motherboards...probably my mind's way of trying to form some sort of techno-armor. So, I either removed that and stabbed him or stabbed him somewhere he wasn't shielded. Like I said, I don't remember all the details.

Last night, I was sitting somewhere with some friends, but inexplicably in a bad mood. We were pretty widely spaced out, and for some reason, there were a gun and some knives (a set of three similar knives of differing sizes) on the table in front of me. No idea why, but I think I was just getting madder and madder at someone or something around...until these two women (one looking older and uglier than the other) came in with guns blazing. Fortunately for us, they had horrible aim. I snapped out of my anger and realized that, hey, these bitches are going to kill us if I, the only one with weapons nearby, don't do something. So I picked up the gun, shot twice and killed the younger of the two with the second, since I missed with the first. Then I turned and shot twice at the other one, but the bullets bounced off. So, I think while she was reloading a shotgun, I picked up the knives and went to stab her with the biggest of the three. It didn't penetrate her skin at all. She then said something, but I can't remember what except that it gave me the idea of trying the smaller knives. I then grabbed the smallest of the knives, stabbed it into her neck, and twisted. THAT helped. While she was writhing in pain or dying or whatever, I did the same thing with the medium knife. She started to turn into a cow as she died. I think she might have been a werecow or something. During the whole scuffle (I don't know what my friends were doing the whole time), the police showed up. I handed them the small and medium knives and told them something like, "I killed the cow with these." That's the last I remember.

I was kind of weirded out by the dream this morning, and even more so when I realized that I had those two dreams in a row.

I learned how to use chopsticks today!
In case anyone has wondered about how I've been lately, since I haven't been posting, all's been more or less well.

Today was an especially good day. I was out and about for just a little over 12 hours...well, stopped in my room briefly to drop some shit off, but ignoring that, I've been gone for that long. Went to work as normal; nothing special happened. I finished a short essay to turn in with a test so I could print it later. Went to lunch and then to print my essay, and came back to my friends who were still there. Someone had the idea of having sushi for dinner, and I asked to go with them, so they said to meet at 5. So all continued as normal, then I went to the test. Since I did the essay in advance, it was *easy*. I finished the test and got out of class about 50 minutes early. On my way out, I encountered the ones with whom I was going to have sushi, so I joined them for wal-mart until we had to meet up with the others for sushi. Got a few things I've needed for a bit from there, then we all came back to gather everyone up to go for sushi.

Now, we went and had dinner, and let me say: OMFG I haven't had so much great seafood ever before. After I had lunch, I was still hungry. I even got an extra sandwich and was hungry again after my test. CLEARLY I was destined to have a really amazing dinner. And amazing it was. I didn't even notice the avacado in however many of them I had, and I'm fairly certain I've never had any actual raw fish before tonight. I only had two problems with that meal. I have NO idea what I ate because we collectively ordered a bunch of stuff and all just picked it off a sushi boat and now I'm going to be thoroughly disappointed in meals from here on out.

Why have I eaten on campus for so long?

The first two days of the semester are done...
...and I think things will go pretty well.

My first class was yesterday. It was my first French literature class. If the first day and the syllabus are any indicator, I think the class will go fine...at least I won't have a research paper like I did in my Spanish literature class.

This morning was my first German class. Ever. Pronunciation is much harder than Spanish, and I'm going to have to get used to some completely different sounds. I think that will be my biggest issue in German, and I have plenty of help if I need it.

This afternoon I had my other French class, translation. I don't think it's a very good sign that we discussed Edgar Allen Poe's "Annabel Lee" and two French translations of it on the first day. It was a good poem, though. My Spanish translation class last semester focused mainly on Spanish to English translations, but the French teacher said we'd do a lot of both ways. I'm also glad that he said we're not doing any interpretation; he said he's not qualified to teach that.

Tonight's class was my first Japanese class. And I'd like to say that OMFG learning hiragana is going to be hard.

Overall, I think this semester will go pretty well. I think my biggest problem will be working at 8 AM three times a week. In fact, I did a lot of running around today, and am getting up at 7 AM each day for now, so I'm very tired.

I now officially have four big gaping holes inside the big gaping hole known as my mouth. My face hurts, but I think I'll be able to open my mouth fully again faster than alan did. The taste of blood is disturbing and slightly sickening, but I think the bleeding is under control. For some reason, my right hurts more than my left, even though they supposedly did the same thing on both sides. Campbell's velvety potato soup at hand is great.

    I think that is all.

Here's hoping I don't have to take any painkillers. An ice pack to the face is keeping the pain under control.

To those concerned about my surgery
Just got back from the dental surgeon guy. I think they don't use as good an anesthetic as my regular dentist did, because I gagged too much for them to actually take anything out. In fact, they barely managed to get the anesthesia in. I thought that I'd be able to do it with local anesthesia because I never gagged on my other dentist doing fillings back there, probably because my other dentist used the gas alongside the local anesthesia. But that's apparently only used when they knock you out completely, even though it never knocked me out before...just made it more comfortable to let him put his hands in my mouth.

To be entirely honest, I'm not sure they did the anesthesia right, anyway. They were supposed to be doing work on both sides, top and bottom, but I can still feel my upper lip and most of my right side while my left side is numb up to the ear. Even between my left ear and eye is numb. Talking, swallowing, and licking my lips without drooling on myself are a bitch to accomplish. Here's one of those opportunities when learning ASL would help, if others in my family had learned it, too.

Oh...and now I need to make an appointment to go back and have the surgery with general anesthesia. Since I can't eat or drink ANYTHING during the 8 hours before the surgery, I'm hoping to get an early morning appointment.

    Blah blah blah
So to update since whenever I was last on, here's pretty much all that has happened.

I've been sick since before Christmas. Started with just a sore throat, then came a cough, had the screaming shits for half a day, congestion from the deepest/darkest hells... Started to feel better for a bit, even thought I was getting over the horrible cold-plague for a couple of days. Then I got sick again. Then I started to get over it again...then started to get sick again. I'm feeling a little better again now...so I'm just expecting to get worse again.

I went to the dentist last Wednesday. Well, technically he's a dental surgeon. My usual dentist doesn't do what I need...Wednesday's was just an appointment for looking at my teeth to, more or less, make sure that I need what the other dentist claims I do. So, he takes a look in my mouth, then takes a look in my brother's (alan's, for future reference). Here's the part about why I don't like this particular surgeon/dentist/guy. When he was in the exam room with me, he asked if I have a relative in there at the time (apparently he saw my appointment and alan's appointment side-by-side), so I told him he's my brother. Then he asked which is older, so I told him he is. So when he was done with me, he left to look at alan and I went back to the front desk to ask about billing and surgery and all that good shit. A few minutes later, alan came up to the desk for the same purpose, but the difference is that the doctor told him all about his surgery *and* about mine. To be more accurate, the doctor told him a bunch of important information that he should have told me instead, seeing as alan really had no business knowing about my surgery, anyway. So once he gets around, I find out that the doctor thinks it best to take out my wisdom teeth at the same time as taking out a couple of teeth that have pretty much gone bad, which he didn't tell me. Since I like the idea, I tell the nurse that I want that. A few days later, I find out about the food restrictions after the surgery, which the doctor also decided not to tell me; restricted to semi-solid foods...don't know for how long. All this withholding of information makes me half hope that I cough in his face right after he does the surgery and get him sick with whatever cold-plague I've had for most of a month.

Well, surgery's tomorrow, and, as of right now (6:34 PM 8 Jan 2007), my face hurts. Here's hoping that tomorrow goes well and with a minimum of pain.

    End of semester assessment
So this semester's been a little rough. Overall, it hasn't been bad; it's certainly better than it was when I was still in education classes.

Two of my classes I really liked. My French grammar class was fun, despite the occasional frustration. I still hate subjunctive, though, in French and Spanish alike. Dr. Egloff's great, but she'll be missed next semester. Here's hoping she'll be back in the fall.

The Spanish translation class was really interesting, too. Ultimately, that's still what I want to do with my life. I just hope not to have to translate things with puns or poetry...it just doesn't work most of the time.

Business French was boring as all hell. It was easier than business Spanish, but I don't feel like we actually did anything in that class, at least not anything that we didn't also do in the grammar class. It was an easy class, but I hated it.

The last one tops them all, though: American Sign Language 2. Anyone who's been around me since, ohh, a few weeks before Thanksgiving has heard me bitch about this class. My biggest problems with this class: the sheer mass of the course work, the "deaf contact hours," and the excess of cultural material. There was so much crap to do for this class; so much more time wasted on this 100-level language class than on my 300- and 400-level classes. I had to have at least 5 hours of contact with the deaf community, with a limit to how much time I could get per event...so living with a deaf person only got me part of that time. Not to mention that at the 102 level, you can't really have much of a conversation. Now, I don't really have a problem with learning about Deaf culture, but last I knew, an ASL class was for learning ASL, not for learning about the hardships deaf people have had to overcome when it comes to buying cars or about exaggerated stereotypes of deaf and hearing people. It was such a massive waste of time plus some useful language skills.

Wasn't a bad semester, but I'm glad it's over. Here's hoping for a good, restful break, and a good next semester, too.
